A boardroom review gives the table to evaluate their performance in a holistic manner. It helps tables identify weaknesses in their leadership and culture as well as the facets of longevity. It also ensures that those who pay to join a table are properly equipped to fulfill their responsibilities.
This research field is still his response evolving and a myriad of difficulties remain. The current evidence-based evidence provides mixed results on how dissent can affect boards and the way they function. While some studies show positive (Zona 2016) and curvilinear results, others report negative (Brown, Buchholtz and Butts 2019) as well as mixed or non-significant results (Heemskerk, Heemskerk, and Wats 2015; Minichilli et al. 2012) relations between dissent and a board’s task performance.
The literature doesn’t provide an in-depth understanding of the factors that influence the dissension’s dynamics. To increase the understanding of this governance issue, it’s beneficial to create a more theoretically integrated approach. This could involve using configurational approaches (Federo & Saz-Carranza, 2018; Schiell, Lewellyn & Yan 2023) in order to assist researchers in understanding the ways in which board attributes, processes and contexts relate in a causal manner that is sufficient and necessary.
Finaly, some studies use a narrow definition for disagreement but do not offer precise measurement methods. These studies are therefore susceptible to measurement error. It is worthwhile to develop more reliable methods to measure dissent for future studies.
